Budapest Artineris is part of the Artineris network
Budapest Artineris is part of Artineris, the international network dedicated to the promotion of contemporary art in cities.
Artineris was born from the experience of Rome Art Week and carries forward its legacy, transforming an established model into a project open to new cities and new artistic communities. Its aim is not only to organise a week of events, but also to build a permanent network capable of connecting artists, curators, galleries, associations, foundations, artists’ studios, independent spaces and cultural institutions.
Each initiative within the network retains its own local identity while sharing the same principles: free participation, a widespread presence across the city, autonomy for participants, permanent mapping of the artistic community and digital tools for managing profiles, events and itineraries.
Rome Art Week, often referred to by the acronym RAW, is the event from which the Artineris project originated.
Born in Rome, RAW involves the entire city every year through a widespread programme of exhibitions, open studios, meetings, guided tours and events dedicated to contemporary art. The initiative offers cultural operators a shared space for visibility and gives the public the opportunity to freely discover venues, artists and projects throughout the city.
The steady growth of Rome Art Week has shown that a citywide event can also become a permanent tool for connecting and promoting the local art scene. Artineris was created from this experience: an international network designed to share this model with other cities while adapting it to the cultural identity of each territory.
