Stickpin philosophy
The stickpin is the most important, even indisposable tool for sewing and stitching. As Is, It Poses an oxymoron; cold steel striking A draping, Supple material pleasantly soft to the touch. A prick here, a poke there. Tiny holes Will always remain, hinting nothing passes without a trace. This pin Engenders A unification, It seals The bond. and it hurts. Just like life’s micro unpleasantries, the pricks are small and memorable. They Set a pattern for stitching, sewing and a way of life. To avoid conflict, we are not to stray from the Established path. Whatever we may do, evidence will reveal our efforts.
On 22 September at 16:30, I will be hosting an “event” at FUGA (Budapest Center of Architecture) at the initiative of Budapest ARTINERIS. I invited architect and composer Péter Mátrai, who had previously been inspired by some of my pin pictures and “translated” them into the language of music. Accompanied by a few of my pin pictures, we’ll yarn a bit about this fruitful collaboration using words and music.Come one, come all!
