The guided tour accompanying the exhibition Supramental Worlds offers a personal insight into a painterly world where material, gesture, natural forces, and the experience of consciousness are deeply interconnected.
The highlight of the evening is this direct encounter: Attila Balla reveals the layers of his works, his creative method, and the decades-long philosophy that forms the background of his painting through his own personal perspective.
The exhibition at K.A.S. Gallery, Budapest, presents a selection from Attila Balla’s decades-long, gesture- and material-centered painting. For the artist—who studied in Sweden and Budapest, and later settled near Csongrád—painting is not primarily about representation, but a process of exploring consciousness and perception.
In his large-scale, expressive works, the forces of nature, the experience of meditation, and the unpredictable behavior of materials come together. Concrete, wax, resin, pigments, colored sand, and his own handmade paper have all become part of his unique painterly language.
The paintings of Supramental Worlds are born at the intersection of material, gesture, nature, and inner experience.
