Norbert Bánhalmi is a Hungarian photographic artist working between Vienna and Budapest.
He began his professional career in 1999, and his artistic practice centres on the human individual, identity, presence, and the relationship between people and their surroundings.
His practice brings together portraiture, documentary observation and a fine-art sensibility. His photographs are characterised by authentic human gestures, a subtle interplay of light and shadow, and a restrained, timeless visual language.
Beyond technical perfection, he seeks the moment in which the person behind the image becomes genuinely present.
His artistic and professional life is closely connected to both Hungary and Austria. His work brings together different cultures, generations and personal histories. He approaches photography not simply as the creation of images, but as a form of attention and human connection.
He is a member of the Worldwide Association of Hungarian Photographers, an OM System ambassador in Hungary, and the founder of VIPACH – Vienna Photo Art & Creative Hub .
